Our Story
When I began to ponder on creating a home-based business, I first made a list of all the things I love and am passionate about to help open the creative channels of receptivity within me. I looked for the muse of inspiration inside myself to give me the insight needed to help ignite my creativity.
Est. 2009
In 2009 I attended the Fourth of July Street Fair in downtown Ventura where I was living. There was one tent after the other lining the streets with lots to see and lots to buy! The tent that I was initially drawn to was a home-based candle company. I had just finished burning my last candle and wanted to buy more, so I headed straight in that direction. I smelled every candle the owner offered before choosing which one I liked the most. They all smelled wonderful!
The owner asked me if I had ever considered making candles and opening my own candle company. I told her that I had made candles for Christmas gifts many, many years ago, but that I wasn’t interested in doing that again. She bypassed my answer and went on to tell me about the new candle, Soy! She informed me of all of the benefits of burning soy vs. paraffin, and how much easier it was working with soy which has a lower melting point. She handed me a stack of papers elaborating more on what she had said, with instructions on to get started building my own company.
As I was walking to my car, the light turned on and I thought about my list sitting at home. As soon I got home I began researching soy candles and candle suppliers. It wasn’t until too long that I made my first purchase and started making soy candles. I soon became a fragrance junkie. I wanted them all!
A friend of mine mentioned that I needed to create my own unique niche’ that would stand out amongst the ever-growing soy candle industry. So I called upon my muse for ideas. I saw that one of my supply companies was selling bags of crushed glass. I liked the sparkles, the shimmer, the reflection of light and asked myself how I could incorporate these glass flecks into my candle making. I experimented with topping my candles with this crushed glass. My candles looked so beautiful, sparkly; they shimmered and reflected the candle light just like the stars do at night as they reflect moon light. Stars in the night sky have always reminded me of shimmering diamonds. That was it! I found my niche’! And White Diamonds by Ariel’ was born!
I am always looking for new innovations to improve my product and what I offer you. White Diamonds by Ariel’ is a superior product because most of all each candle is made with love!
